Trending in Weddings: Natural Centerpieces

Trending in Weddings: Natural Centerpieces Wedding decor has shifted toward a more organic and natural aesthetic, as we’re seeing brides trading in blush colored roses for table settings of driftwood and succulents. This more casual wedding theme extends passed just the floral selections, with less traditional, boho-style bridal gowns and mix-matched bridesmaids dresses also on the rise. Achieving this more casual and cozy look is pretty simple and can be a money saver for the budget bride! If you are opting for long tables for your guests, we love the simple greenery stretching the entire length of the table, with simple votive candles on the table and hanging overhead. The understated place settings and table linens set the mood for a comfortable and friendly celebration with close friends! If you’re venue accommodates smaller tables for guests, we recommend incorporating a few larger arrangements with twigs and vines with smaller collections of succulents in mason jars or mercury glass vases. The variation of textures and sizes feels comfortable, but still provides a cohesive look. Pine cones are also a great alternative to florals! Place a few pine cones in a glass vase you probably already have in your kitchen, add a few simple candles and a handful of wild flowers from your garden, and you have a beautiful centerpiece for your welcoming table! As always, happy wedding planning! For more inspiration, visit our Pinterest page! Xoxo, The MaeMe...

Get The Look For Less

Alright, brides to be…today we’re gonna talk about dresses that look alike. Often times, brides come in for their bridal appointment absolutely certain that they have to have a specific designer’s dress. The bridal world is very confusing, so we want to explain a few things! Every bridal store carries different designers. The boutique you choose to work with (probably because you’ve heard their customer service is amazing) might not carry the specific designer you set out to find. So, how’s a bride supposed to know where to find the dress she’s had her eye on?! Our stylists are trained to help you find your perfect dress! We would ask: What do you like about the dress or designer you’ve had your eye on? What budget are you comfortable with (We all know Pinterest doesn’t publish prices!)? We would then find what dress we have that is similar to the dress/designer you have your heart set on, is available in your preferred budget, and is available try on in-person instead of ordering blindly online! Below are a few examples of dresses that are made by different designers that look alike, are available in different boutiques, and are sold at different price points: The dress on the left is a Watters gown. The dress on the right is a separates combination available in our boutique. WOW! Don’t they look so similar? The dress on the left is a Justin Alexander gown that is available in our boutique. The dress on the right is a Berta gown that is more than QUADRUPLE the price. OMG, the resemblance! The gown on the left is a Stella York gown that is available in our boutique....

The Power of Pinterest

So, you use Pinterest every day, you dream of your perfect wedding dress, and wonder where the heck do I even find something like this and how much does it cost? Well, I understand completely. When I started looking for my wedding dress, I was a little discouraged when I realized that the Hayley Paige gowns I was pinning would cost over $2,000. Since I’ve been working with MaeMe, I’ve learned a lot about bridal gowns, the different designers, and how misleading Pinterest can be. Women often find something on Pinterest and then expect to find the exact dress at their local boutiques. Long story short, that isn’t always possible. But the details and features of the dresses you love, can be found at your local boutiques. I’ve dug deep into the wedding themed Pinterest boards of some of my friends and saved some of the photos that they’ve been pinning. I, then, found dresses that resemble the ones my friends found on Pinterest, but that can be tried on and purchased at our boutique! I’m using these real (and local!) Pinterest users and wedding enthusiasts to show that Pinterest is the perfect starting point. Keep an open mind because the dress of your dreams is out there! Renee Jones Pinterest board: Perfect Wedding Dress This dress is gorgeous. The beading, the silhouette, the off the shoulder look. It’s so GLAM! This dress is a winter dream; It’s simple, timeless, and polished. Our boutique actually carries this designer and this dress. Shout out to the ever lovely Essense of Australia! This beaded Justin Alexander gown has similar features to the gown above....
