Cherie and Sam: The Wedding

Cherie and Sam wed on 9.24.16 at the awe-inspiring Holy Name of Jesus Church. The two then celebrated their nuptials at Rosy’s Jazz Hall in uptown New Orleans. The picture-perfect couple reminds us of all the splendor of the jazz age. Cherie looked sweet as pie in her vintage inspired cap-sleeve lace gown, and the birdcage veil completed her gorgeous ensemble by framing her beautiful expression. We thank Maile Lani Photography for capturing these sweet moments! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs! It all begins with a dress! “Love is a friendship that has caught fire.” -Ann...

Alison and Tommy: Relationship Goals

Alison and Tommy: Relationship Goals How a bike ride this Sunday changed my life… Sometimes, you witness something so simple and beautiful, that you have to take a step back and pause. This weekend, I went for a bike ride along the lake to enjoy the absolute best weather we have had all season! No expectations. Earphones in. People watching. Everyone was sort of a blur in passing. Except for this one couple. The couple caught my eye from across the street. There was nothing extraordinary about them. Just two people, sitting in fold-up lawn chairs, enjoying a mystery beverage in a blue solo cup, facing the water. Though the scene seems rather insignificant, there was something about these two that immediately drew me towards them. In fact, I circled around so that I could snap a quick picture. As I was taking the picture, my heart immediately filled with joy. These were just two normal people, sitting in normal chairs, having a drink on a gorgeous day with gorgeous landscape, and enjoying each other’s company. I could sense their happiness just sitting along the water, lost in conversation together. It just really touched me to see a couple still “dating” so to speak, and so obviously wild about each other. That’s what I want. A simple love with someone whose company feeds my soul. I was about to ride away, but something in my gut told me I needed to share with them how inspiring they were to me. I approached them, introduced myself and said, “I’m so sorry to bother you, but I just have to tell you…y’all are just serious relationship goals for me right now! I was so inspired by you two as I was...

What You Need To Know: Ordering Your Bridesmaid Dresses

What You Need To Know: Ordering Your Bridesmaid Dresses Congratulations! You’ve found your wedding dress, and now it’s time for your bridesmaids! Shopping for bridesmaid dresses can be overwhelming, so we’ve put together some helpful tips to prepare you for the journey! Like bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses are also made to order and require a production time of 14-16 weeks. We recommend ordering 6 months before the wedding to ensure adequate time for alterations. This date will be considered the “order deadline” and is included in the bridal party file (we’ll get to this!). The order deadline is the day that we need to actually order your dresses. To do so, all payments, measurements, and contracts must be completed and on file by this date. Leading up until the order deadline, your bridesmaids can make payments by phone or in person in increments of $50 or more. Let’s use an example: if your wedding is December 5th, your bridesmaid party order deadline would be June 5th. If all bridesmaids were measured, paid, and had the necessary documentation completed by June 5th, the dresses would arrive by October, leaving several weeks for alterations. (Depending on the season, alterations may take 6-8 weeks!) To begin the bridesmaid party ordering process, the bride will fill out a bridesmaid party contact form containing vital information needed for each member of the party: names and telephone numbers of each bridesmaid, what dress each maid will be wearing, what color(s) each maid will be wearing, the date of the wedding AND the order deadline will be determined. Once the bridesmaid party file is established, each bridesmaid can come in at their leisure to get measured and make payments leading up to the...

What You Need To Know About Ordering your Wedding Dress

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ORDERING YOUR WEDDING DRESS Are you engaged?! First of all, let me offer my warmest CONGRATULATIONS! This is a very exciting time for you, and the staff and I want to make the process as stress free as possible by providing you with some important information on ordering THE ONE! And no, we are not talking about your fiancé. The other “one,” and perhaps arguably the most fun and best part of the planning process: your WEDDING DRESS! Wedding dresses are usually not sitting in a warehouse waiting for a bride like a pair of jeans! They are very intricate and detailed garments that are produced once an order is placed, and they require a production time of 4-6months. Keep in mind that during the holidays (December-January), production can take closer to 6 months. After placing an order for a custom wedding dress, we receive an estimated completion date from the designer. This date is always an estimation, and can fluctuate slightly depending on demand, holidays, shipping, customs, availability of textiles, etc. When a bride calls to check the status of her gown order, we always offer a time frame as to when we “expect” the gown to arrive. We explain that this is only an estimation, and we do our very best to keep our customers informed. In a TIME CRUNCH? No worries! You can always purchase a wedding dress right off our sales floor! No waiting! No worrying! Are you planning on taking pre-bridal portraits (pictures prior to your wedding day)? We are huge supporters of taking as many pictures in your gorgeous dress as your heart desires; however, it is important to keep this in mind when ordering your dress....

The gown also had a cathedral train that looked utterly amazing on her! And let’s not forget the veil: a Bel Aire 1 tier with unbeaded Alencon Lace. WOW! Her bridesmaids were #MaeMeGirls as well, all dressed in Sorella Vita high neckline dresses in the color blush. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Bourg, and a special thanks to Kali Norton Photography for capturing these lifetime memories! The beautiful bride What a GORGEOUS shot! All of the #MaeMeGirls!
